Brazos Valley Food Bank
Brazos Valley Food Bank (BVFB) is a non-profit organization and the only central food distribution to Brazos Valley, serving to take the community one step closer to a hunger-free living. BVFB utilizes millions of pounds of food and dollars each year, and with the invaluable support of thousands of volunteers, it feeds tens of thousands of people.
The organization's programs cover immediate hunger needs in a variety of ways, with different programs including backpacks for children filled with food, school food pantries, senior bags, mobile pantries for rural areas, home delivery services, and health setting interventions to identify persons facing hunger. In the future, BVFB aims to target strategic action against hunger: benefits assistance, and nutrition education for SNAP-eligible populations, while the "Together We Grow" program is education, empowerment, and prevention in the community.
